Keeping the rain out (and the heat moving)
Now, these are IP55 rated, which is just a fancy way of saying they can handle dust and rain hitting them from any angle. We use heavy-duty gasketed seals at the access points to keep the electronics dry. But here’s the thing: because the unit is sealed tight to protect it from the weather, the air inside doesn’t move as much. Heat can build up around the wiring. Just make sure you leave enough breathing room around the unit when you mount it. If it’s too cramped, the thermal cut-off will trip during a cold snap, and you’ll be left shivering.Give it some space to breathe.
